External Scholarships & Bursaries

Thanks to the KPDSB and the LEAP Foundation, up to 30 students receive a scholarship to attend a world renowned leadership program. This program has run for the past 13 years and will be virtual this summer due to Covid-19. The details for the program are in the poster attached to this email.

Skills Ontario is proud to offer four Virtual Contest Scholarships for 2020! These will be awarded to four secondary students who are approved registered competitors and participate in the 2020 Virtual Skills Ontario Contests.

  • Award of Excellence – Best Overall Score Scholarship: $1000.00
  • Scholarship 1: $500.00
  • Scholarship 2: $500.00
  • Scholarship 3: $500.00

The Virtual Contest Scholarship winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony, being held virtually on June 25th, 2020 at 6:30pm EST. The live link will be available on the website in the Awards Ceremony section on June 25th, 2020 at skillsontario.com/2020-virtual-skills-ontario-contests. No registration is required. Everyone is invited!

Scholartree is one of the larger dollar value scholarships that is only available to Ontario students.

Here are a few resources to help students who are applying to scholarships:


The National Union has the following Scholarships available:

Young Workers Scholarship, Brian Fudge Memorial Scholarship, Scholarship for Indigenous Students, Scholarship for LGBTQI2S Students, Scholarship for Students of Colour, Terry Fox Memorial Scholarship, & the Tommy Douglas Scholarship.  Deadline for applications an essays is July 6, 2020! The United Steelworkers, Local 1-2010 will award two (2) scholarships. These are limited to students whose parents are members of United Steelworkers, Local 1-2010.  Copies of the forms and more information can be printed from the website: http://www.uswlocal1-2010.ca/


At ScholarTree we are always looking for diverse scholarships that apply to as many different types of students as possible. University & College Scholarships

Universities and Colleges often offer scholarships to their students.  Please visit your university or college website (financial aid) to see what is offered and the deadlines to apply.  Here is a sampling.
