If you have a parent or grandparent who belongs to or is retired from one of the National Union of of Public and General Employees components or affiliates you may be eligible to apply for several $1,500 scholarships. Check out this link. Deadline is July 4, 2019.
RBC offers several student awards. Here is a link to the 2019 Indigenous Student Awards Program. The deadline to apply is February 28th.
Here is some information for awards that are available to Northwestern Ontario Students.
The Carl Lindstrom Bursary – deadline April 26, 2019 The Northwestern Health Unit has announced the Carl Lindstrom Bursary for Northwestern Ontario students who reside in the Health Unit’s catchment area. One regional bursary of $1000.00 will be presented to a students entering or returning to full-time post-secondary studies leading to graduation in a public health related field or profession. Please visit the Northwestern Health Unit’s web-page for more information. The application deadline is April 26, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.
Labourers International Union of North America, Local 607 – Deadline April 30, 2019 The Livio Bandiera scholarship is available to the son, daughter, or dependent child of a member,or to a member of the local union. Click on the link for more information and the application. LiUNA
Lake of the Woods Professional Engineers Ontario chapter – Deadline May 15, 2019 Three Bursaries, of $500.00 each, are available to graduating students, from the area, who will be pursing a career in Engineering in 2018. LOW professional engineers application.
United Steel Workers local 1-2010 is offering scholarships to student whose parents are members of United Steelworkers, Local 1-2010. 2019 USW Local 1-2010
There are also Scholarships given by the National Office the the United Steelworkers. See their website at www.usw.ca/scholarships.
Carpenters’ Local Union 1669 has a bursary available to all high school students regardless of grade. Please see the guidance office for more information.
